Construction of the front deck came next. We used a synthetic decking material made of recycled pop bottles and sawdust.
This is another view of the front deck taken from the window openings above.
To the west of the deck, we then built a wheelchair ramp to accommodate Peter.
In this shot you can see the ramp, plus you can see that the gable ends have now been closed in. We've also started attaching the pieces of metal lathe to the exterior surface of the polysteel forms. This lathe will hold the "scratch" layer of mortar onto which the manufactured stones will be affixed.
This is a closer view of the metal lathe.
Here you can see that the decking has been installed on the wheelchair ramp. We are also now ready to start putting up the "scratch" coat of mortar on the walls.
Here you can see the "scratch" coat on the west wall. In order to reach the upper limits, we stacked hay bales. In the lower right, you can see where we've starting putting on the stones.
